Hey all. I just got a PS3, and after what i can see of the menues blind peeple also can use it, so if foke was thinking to pay for one you just can go on. I am not totaly blind, but i did have some blind friends, and the have no problems. If you have more questions just ask.
this is all well and good in itself, but some examples might be in order here. how can blind people use the ps3?
It's Easy. You can go after the "klik" sounds, when you go left, the klik will stop when you cant go longer, you can kount how menny times you should go left or right, and when it is lirnd the world is open. I'm not sure if you get all of your questions answered, but if not just ask again.
The only reason I'd get one if for KH3, or if it comes out for the 360 screw PS3, i'm getting an XBOX. Cheaper, and a few other games I want for the 360 as opposed to just KH3 for the PS3.
The only game i really look forwurd to get my hands on, is surely Tekken 6.
hmm, i'd get a ps3 if the games were accessible rather than the menues
Agreed, Lory. I'm sure the menus are accessible; most menus are, just through counting or memorization. But there's no point if the games aren't accessible.
You can at this time got 6 games witch are playerbel for blind users, i dont have the list right here, but if you like me to, i can send it out.
seriously?
if i find really accessible games, i will happily consider getting one
hmm i have ps3 i can use but i don't know how to update fir, ware to play online is good but for game is must have practise alot
Yeah. Playing certain games is fine, but no matter how much the menus make audible noises, it's pointless when they don't wrap, or, like someone said, when you're online or trying to update the software. I can still turn it on fine, and play fighting games at least, if I'm familiar with the menu layout.
i've had this question asked to me a thousand times or so. how the hell can you play a ps3 game, or hell, any other game without site? I always tell them. I go by sound, and memmorizing everything. i've done this for years. tha'ts how i've ben able to be the sities in mk and stuff like that. i've got teckin 6, it's ok, but It would a been better if it was a strate up fighting storyline than just walking around and stuff like that. i've got a ps2 an 3 here, hardly touch the ps2 anymore, but yeah. most games for blind people can only be fighting ones, tha'ts all I know anyways at least. racing and such liek that are not accessible to me. I just recently picked up the latest blaze blue game, it's ok. but yeah. anyway, enough rambling from me for now
so, can you please post those games which are accessible to us blind folk. along with any tips on how to utilize the controls. which facets of the game counsel require sited assistance. cheers. gizzy
Almost any fighting game will work, because playing it is just as much about sound as it is about sight. Of course, I will admit, you might need sighted help to memorize the menus, but to play the game, learning it is really no harder than learning it if you're sighted. Sometimes, I've been able to get around the menus by trial and error. My personal favorite is Street Fighter, but all fighting games that I know of are pretty much accessible.
Sports games are accessible as well. For example, MLB the show 2010, or Fightnight round 4.
I like mordal combat on the pc2 I think. I've played it a few times at my friends house and you can play it with just sound. I like that it tells you what character you've picked, and also who won the round just in case you lose track. I would love to have it but I'm not going to by a game system for one game
Sadly, I don't have a ps3, but I know that street fighter 4 is pretty accessible on the ps3. I also think that Yahkuza 3 is also very accessible as are all the Mortal Kombat games and such.
I too would like that list. My husband and I are considering a ps3 or other game console bout xmas time, and I am looking for information on the most accessible for games...I like fighting games, but I really like sword and sorcery type.
i'd get one if it wasn't so expensive. hence i'd probably get a xbox, for a few games on that are accessible too, but right now, i'm not going to bother until i get more information and until i know i'll actually play the thing
